Guests enjoy the spacious front porch in warm weather, but the Inn features other common areas for visitors to use at their leisure. In the parlor, a baby grand piano and ‘flea-market-find’ unusual lamps provide an inviting environment for casual conversation, and guests are sure to note the birdcage motif, complete with the whimsy of peacock feathers.
Artisan stained glass panels allow shimmering light to grace the summery yellow walls of the dining room, making breakfast beneath the candelabra a most pleasant experience. Or, sink into the ultra-comfortable, timeless love seats and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while basking in the warmth of the sunny southern exposure. A cheery kitchen is well-stocked not only with delicious scents, but also features specialized touches that recall by-gone days.
The lovely powder room, complete with a claw-foot tub and stained glass window, round out the lower level public spaces.
An open staircase leads to the second level and The Alcove, a quaint spot for quiet reflection, a good read from the barrister bookcase, or perhaps a catnap on the chaise lounge.
Don’t forget to check behind the downstairs stairwell closet door for a special surprise, and keep out a sharp eye for the many antique and vintage keys displayed or tucked away throughout the Inn.
Thanks goes to photographer Chris Holm, who captured these charming views of The Columbiana Inn.
